CDB awards grants to animation, film projects in Saint Lucia
BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, (CDB News) - The Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) has awarded US$ 50,000 in grant funding to two film and animation entities in Saint Lucia and Trinidad and Tobago for projects which aim to increase cultural collaboration and empower at-risk youth. The successful recipients are Saint Lucia's Malfini Film and Animation Studio, Inc and Trinidad and Tobago's Forward Ever Foundation and the awards came under the Improving Competitiveness of Creative MSMEs Grant issued by CDB's Cultural and Creative Industries Innovation Fund (CIIF).

Writer-director Ryan Coogler is producing a new Disney Plus Marvel TV show set in the Kingdom of Wakanda as part of a five-year exclusive TV deal with Coogler's production banner, Proximity Media
Lilly Singh Animated Princess LGBTQ Film in the Works at
Lilly Singh will star in a new animated musical short film — centering on the theme of LGBTQ pride from Pocket.watch, part of the digital kids’ content studio’s expansive 2021 slate. In “Lilly Singh’s Proud Princess,” the YouTuber and host of NBC’s “A Little Late with Lilly Singh” will voice a young girl discovering pride in her true identity. The film is currently in pre-production.
TT animation a winner in Brazil
Inspired by the scarlet ibis, significant to the Guará Mapping Festival and the national bird dear to Trinbagonians, North Eleven, based in Trinidad and Tobago, created a wildlife protection story. The story is set in the Caroni Swamp portrays two futures influenced by human practices.
