WarnerMedia has confirmed that HBO Max will expand in June to 39 territories across Latin America and the Caribbean.
The long-anticipated expansion will mark the first time that premium SVOD will be available outside the US, with plans to convert existing HBO OTT products across Europe to HBO Max over the next few months as well.
The service will be made available to existing direct-billed HBO GO customers as well as those who, along with new subscribers, are billed through eligible partners. Warner confirmed that the existing HBO GO service will be phased out and that the HBO Max product will be mirrored in the US by the new app.
The following territories are covered by this announcement: Anguilla, Antigua, Argentina, Aruba, B.V.I., Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cayman Islands, Costa Rica, Curacao, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Montserrat, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, and St.Vincent, Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago, Turks and Caicos, Uruguay and Venezuela.
“We are excited about the launch of HBO Max in Latin America and the Caribbean, which is the first step in bringing WarnerMedia’s Direct-to-Consumer service to consumers outside the US and around the world,” commented Johannes Larcher, head of HBO Max International.
